Description
Neuhewen is the home of the “Stettener Panoramaweg” Premium Hiking Trail.
The "Stettener Schlößle” is the highest point in the Stetten district at 869 m and constitutes the ruins of the former Neuhewen Castle. Stetten was first mentioned in a document from 1236. With the Neuhewen Castle, the Hewen rulers lost Stettin in 1315 and it became Austrian, then Fürstenberg and finally under Engen (Baden) jurisdiction in 1806. After municipal reforms, Stetten became a district of Engen on January 1, 1975.
