EU Ecolabel Criteria for Campsites
In order to receive the EU Ecolabel, campsites need to fulfil 22 specified sustainability criteria. In addition, a minimum number of 45 other criteria must be met. These include, for example, phasing out coal and the exclusive use of green electricity, the utilisation of potential savings such as LED lighting, water-saving shower heads or toilet flushes, etc.
EU Ecolabel: The EU Ecolabel was launched by the European Commission in 1992. It is awarded to products and services that have a lower environmental impact than comparable products and services. The EU Ecolabel is intended to enable consumers to identify more environmentally friendly and healthier products and services.
